WHY BUY OR SELL THROUGH OUR SALEs

The sale is run by a volunteer committee of NCHCA members who work to make sure the sale is run with integrity, protecting both buyers and sellers. North Central has sponsored at least one sale annually since 2017. We learn more with each sale and do our best to improve. We generally follow the processes used by AHCA at their national sale.

Thinking of consigning? The sale provides a great way for sellers to get their names out there. It is also a great way to get "feedback" on your breeding program.

Looking for cattle to buy?  The sale allows you to get to see animals from many breeders all at once. Literally, a one stop shop. You have the opportunity to compare and contrast the offerings of a variety of farms.

Here’s what you can expect from our auctions.
Before the sale:
  • Promote the sale through advertising, including social media
  • Post information on our website for all consignments including photos, videos, links to AHCA pedigrees, and consignor contact information
  • Verify AHCA registration status, pedigree and ownership
  • Verify pregnancy status and bull testing
  • Provide a sale catalog, sale order and links to the online auction site
During the sale:
  • Oversee the in person and online sales
  • Process reserves for consignors that set them
After the sale:
  • Process payments from buyers and to sellers
  • Post sale results
  • Facilitate communication between buyers and sellers
  • Process transfers through AHCA
Sellers agree to:
  • Provide required veterinary inspections and tests at their expense
  • Sponsor AHCA memberships for buyers new to the association
  • Work with buyers to arrange for pickup of animals at seller’s location
Benefits for buyers:
  • Buyers new to NCHCA receive a free association membership for the balance of the year

The annual sale is a fundraiser for the North Central Highland Cattle Association. 100% of commissions go to support NCHCA activities, including educational sessions, events, and member scholarships.
