The NCHCA sale committee is excited to announce that we have opened consignments for the Females of Fall Sale which will be held in conjunction with the NCHCA Show in Austin, Minn., on September 20, 2024.
This is your opportunity to showcase your genetics at one of the top Highland sales in the USA. Nothing to sell, then perhaps you’re in the market for some of these top females. Either way, we hope to see you and a barn full of quality female Highlands on Friday, September 20 at 3:00 p.m. Our past sales have connected buyers and sellers from across the USA, through the use of online bidding. We’ve upped our online game this year and will be using CCi.com, one of the top cattle sales’ platforms in the USA. Our sale also features Chisolm Peterson, a well-known cattle auctioneer from South Dakota.

This sale will feature Highland heifers, cows and cow/calf pairs from top NCHCA-member farms. This will be an in person and online sale.
NCHCA Females of Fall Sale Information
Deadline: Entry deadline will be August 18, 2024, or until filled. Please download and complete sale entry form and agreement below and submit your application and photos electronically HERE. Those consigning will need to provide photos and/or videos of the cattle for the sale website. Commission levels are 8% for all lots on the Females of Fall Sale.
Entries: Entries may include AHCA registered heifers, cows and cow/calf pairs. All animals must be halter broke and AHCA registered. Sale animals may also be entered in the NCHCA show under the show entry form. The sale committee reserves the right to accept or reject all entries and use its discretion to pick the final lots.
Entry Fees: A membership to the NCHCA is required for entry. The cost per entry is $50 for current NCHCA Members. Entry fees will be treated as advance sale expense and are non-refundable. The last bid received via the online sale constitutes the basis for the commission charge, which is in addition to the entry fee. Lots that are sold will be charged 8% commission. Lots that do not meet the reserve set by the seller will be charged 8% of the last bid placed on the animal. Any lots withdrawn after August 18, 2024, will be assessed a $150 cancellation fee, in addition to the entry fee they already paid.
In Person Sale: Cattle must be in place at the Mower County Fairgrounds by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday September 19th for veterinary inspection.
Health Requirements: All entries must have a certified health certificate (CVI) complying with Minnesota health requirements before arriving at the sale location. Registered animals must have a legible tattoo that corresponds with registration papers. All animals must have a USDA-APHIS approved ear tag. All animals must have a negative BVD-PI test and Tuberculosis (TB) test. Animals must be from a Brucellosis-free state, have a BANGS (Brucellosis vaccine), or be tested free of Brucellosis. Pregnant animals must be confirmed in calf on the health certificate by a veterinarian. All entries must be poured with parasitical control within 10 days of the sale and date of treatment must be provided on health certificate. Any other tests you have completed and would like listed such as anaplasmosis, blue tongue and nt821, etc., please be sure to note those in the animal’s entry description. These tests should also be listed on your veterinary health certificate.
Internet Auction: NCHCA will be providing an in person auction as well as on-line bidding through CCI.live.
Transportation/After Care: Buyers are responsible for transportation including arrangements and costs. In the event a buyer does not have transportation from the sale site arranged, I understand that animals will need to return to my farm until transportation is secured. Animals must leave the fairgrounds by Sunday, September 22, 2024. In the event your buyer is unable to transport animals, or you need to take them home, you are responsible for feeding and caring for the animal until it leaves the grounds. Please make sure to bring enough feed to last through Sunday.
USA Only: This is a USA-only live cattle sale. No live cattle will be eligible to sell to Canada.
